How to use the People Page 👥

The People page lets you explore and filter profiles of founders, angel investors, executives, and other key individuals in our database. To help you discover the right people more efficiently, you can apply a variety of filters, save your search, and export the results.

What you can do on the People page

• Filter by attributes: Narrow down people by things like their investment experience, work experience, the year their last company was founded, industry, location, or even specific keywords.

• Keyword Search & Smart Semantic Search: Use the FILTER bar to quickly find exact matches by typing a person’s name, their company name, or discover people with specific attributes (e.g. type “Has Business Emails” to only see profiles with available contact details).

• Combine filters with AND / OR logic: You can mix filters (industry, education background, company founding year, etc.) to broaden or narrow your results. For example, find people who founded companies in Health Tech AND whose last-founded company was founded after 2020.

How to use filters

1. Go to People in Dealroom.

2. Use the filter bar to add criteria. Examples:

   • Last Founded Company Year Min = 2020 to find people whose most recent founded company began in or after 2020.

   • Location: HQ in France

   • Industry: Health tech
3. Narrow down your search using Filters in the filter bar to discover the right people more efficiently.

4. Toggle AND / OR logic when selecting multiple filters to control how strict your search is.

5. After filtering, you can export the data by clicking the Export button in the filter bar.
6. Choose the data export columns you want and download the results in CSV or Excel format.

How to save searches & set alerts

1. Once you’ve built a query with filters you want, click Save to Alerts in the filter bar.

2. Give the search a name.

3. You'll receive in-app notifications when new people match your search criteria.

This way, you don’t have to rebuild the same query; you can return to it or be alerted when something new enters the dataset.

Business Emails

Dealroom provides access to 400,000+ business emails, from founders, to investors and CEOs. To find people with an email available, simply type “Has Business Emails” into the filter bar.

You can also use the keyword search to find exact matches by typing a person’s name directly into the filter bar to get precise results. Read our quick guide on Business Emails here.

Founder Strengths

Founders are scored based on several criteria, including their education, technical background, and previous startup or founder experience.

Dealroom categorizes founder strength into three levels:

1. Promising founder

2. Strong founder

3. Exceptional founder

To filter by founder strength:

1. Go to Filters in the People page.

2. Select Type.

3. Scroll down to the bottom and choose the desired founder strength.

This filter helps you quickly identify founders with the strongest signals, based on their background and track record.

Use case examples 

• Explore the frequently used searches from the "Founders" options available at the top of the page to easily monitor specific personas, e.g., Founders with PhD.
  
  
• Track a founder’s latest activity or uncover stealth startups using "Last Founded Company Year" to focus on recent activity.
• See if an angel investor has been active by using the "Activity" dropdown filter.
